Gibson to merge with TC Electronics

It was announced Friday that Gibson Guitar Corp. plans to merge with TC Group, a Danish company well known for it's high-end audio electronics.
Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman and chief executive of Gibson, said the company would be based in Nashville, Tennessee and that the deal would give both companies an "enormous advantage" in the always competitive business of music.
The companies announced the deal at the annual NAMM convention in Anaheim California.
I see your point... If I were just to start randomly thinking of what companies might merge with Gibson, T.C. Electronics definitely wouldn't have been my first (or 10th) guess. It'll be interesting to see what happens to both of their respective product lines in the future. T.C. does have a great reptuation for quality gear, even though they don't have a lot to do with guitars per se.

For some reason, even though I'm not a Gibson fan, this smacks me as, ummm, un-American.
