Bid on a guitar, help save a life: Taylor guitar autographed by Country Superstars up for auction

A Taylor 110 Series acoustic guitar with gig bag is being auctioned to pay medical expenses for Nashville bassist Chris Kent, who is suffering from cancer. The guitar was signed by the country stars Vince Gill, Lorrie Morgan, Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence and Jack Green at the "Life Through Music" benefit event on February 2nd, 2009.
Chris is a Grammy winning musican who has played with a huge list of artists, including guitar virtuosos Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather, Take 6, Lorrie Morgan and many, many others. To get work in Nashville one must be a stellar player, and Chris is certainly that. However, to keep working in Nashville, one must be the kind of person that other artists, musicians and producers don't mind hanging around with for long hours in the studio or on a tour bus. Anybody who's met Chris even once will tell you that he is one of the kindest human beings and best "hangs" in town. After being stuck on a few stages, buses and airplanes with Chris over the years, this writer can attest to that first hand. :-)
Chris will soon be undergoing a risky bone marrow transplant procedure and his family needs all the help they can get to stay ahead of their mounting expenses. In spite of all this, Chris will be doing as many sessions as possible "remotely" from home, thanks to the magic of the Internet and digital recording.
There's much more info available on the auction page, so check it out, place a bid and help this great musician and his family in their time of need!

Lunch Box Guitar
Some great photos from a builder who creates guitars and banjos from ordinary household items. These aren't slapped together instruments. The builder is clearly a very skilled luthier who puts a lot of thought and planning into the build process. Now we just wish we could hear one!
